Changes to Basement Policy

We were very pleased to hear that WCC will introduce a fee of £8,000 for anyone wanting to undertake basement developments in our area. These fees will pay for a dedicated team of officers who will better police the construction process to assist with noise and dust and all other issues which to date have been ad hoc mo natured on behalf of our members and other residents. Ironically, this suggestion was made by the BRA at the very first public meeting held in Chelsea Town Hall some five years ago when, together with the Considerate Basement Group headed by Dr James Thompson we commenced our campaign to better legislate basement developments.
